Polestar EV Background
The story of the Polestar brand and its role in the EV revolution is fascinating. Even though the ownership details are confusing, the Polestar started as a racing team and soon became Volvo's performance division. However, when Geely acquired Volvo, Polestar was given a new and most exciting role as a brand-new hybrid and electric vehicle manufacturer. That happened in 2017, and ever since, Polestar has been one of the most important names in the EV business with a unique take on zero-emission models, design, and technology. Their first hybrid model was the utterly gorgeous Polestar 1, released in 2019, but since then, the company has concentrated solely on battery-powered vehicles. We at Voldt are fascinated by Polestar models' elegant lines and advanced technology. That is why we have developed a line of premium charging cables for all current Polestar cars, and we will cover future models as they become available.
Polestar EV Models
Polestar models are directly named with the range, starting with the Polestar 1, a beautiful but discontinued coupe introduced in 2019. However, the company soon moved to Polestar 2, a compact hatchback with signature styling and great practicality. The Polestar 3 is a mid-size SUV crossover with dynamic styling, while the Polestar 4 is a compact SUV. The Polestar 5 is an upcoming battery-powered sedan, and the Polestar 6 should be a sports car. It has already been introduced as a concept, but the production-ready versions should be coming to the market soon.
Polestar EV Technology
As one of the most active EV car companies, Polestar cars feature a host of specific technologies and deliver exhilarating performance. The Polestar 2 has two battery options – 69 and 78 kWh and either as a front or AWD model with dual motors. Polestar 2 can charge AC and DC at 11 and 150 kW, respectively. Polestar 3 was introduced in 2024 and is based on Volvo's EX90 model, sharing a lot of components with this SUV. A massive 111 kWh battery pack with 400 v architecture is underneath the elegant body. The Polestar 3 is only sold as an AWD dual-motor vehicle. Despite having one battery option, the Polestar 3 is sold in two power levels (483 and 510 hp). The Polestar 4 also has a big battery pack – 102 kWh, and it is delivered in two power levels but with lower horsepower ratings to extend the range. Interestingly, Polestar 3 and 4 use nickel manganese cobalt batteries instead of standard lithium-ion solutions. We at Voldt have designed our charging cables to comply with specific Polestar EV technology for best performance and maximum usability in any conditions.
